POSITION: CHAPLAIN — DEPARTMENT: STUDENT AFFAIRS — SALARY: $60,000
 
 
INFORMATION:
 
The University of Los Santos, San Andreas (ULSA) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chaplain to join our team in Student Affairs. The Office of Student Affairs is divided into two sub-divisions: Student Life and Student Health. The Student Life division is responsible for providing a wide range of services and support to enhance the overall student experience. This includes managing student registrations, coordinating student events and programs, providing academic and career advising, managing student organizations, and ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. As the Chaplain, you will play a crucial role in providing spiritual and emotional support to our diverse student body, helping them navigate the challenges of university life and personal growth.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide spiritual guidance, counseling, and pastoral care to students, respecting diverse religious and spiritual beliefs including but not limited to Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and others.
  • Assist students in exploring questions of ethics, morality, and personal values, fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Be available for crisis intervention and emotional support during challenging times, such as grief, loss, or personal difficulties.
  • Plan and facilitate religious and interfaith programs, services, and events that promote tolerance and understanding among students of different faiths and backgrounds.
  • Foster a sense of community by organizing and participating in campus events, discussions, and dialogues related to spiritual and moral issues.
  • Collaborate with other university departments and organizations to promote holistic well-being and diversity on campus.
  • Maintain records of counseling sessions, contribute to budget planning for the chaplaincy program, and assist in the development of policies related to spiritual and moral guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Religious Studies, Theology, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline).
  • Ordained or certified Chaplain with a recognized religious or spiritual organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and counseling skills.
  • Respect for and sensitivity to diverse spiritual and religious beliefs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff from various backgrounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and competitive environment, and handle pressure situations with professionalism and composure.
  • Experience in higher education or a similar environment is a plus.
